Each day this week we will be celebrating our incredible #Volunteers. Today we will be introducing you to the #Singleton Support Group. Formed in 1997, this awesome bunch are best known for their weekly pub raffles & hosting the annual Charity Rugby League Day. Meet three of their members from left to right.

🔺John Adam, Retired Coal Miner.
Prior to becoming a Volunteer, John had always supported the Service through a payroll deduction program. After retiring John and his wife Louise decided that they wanted to continue helping the #RescueHelicopter by volunteering. John is known amongst the group of volunteers for his hard work & perfect trailer reversing skills, which comes in handy for manuovering the BBQ or cool room at events.

🔺Denise Paul, Retired Banker.
The Rescue Helicopter holds a special place for Denise’s family, as her late husband was transported from Singleton Hospital to the John Hunter Hospital in #Newcastle on two occasions. Because of the great work and care provided by the helicopter, it’s important for Denise to be able support and give back. Denise is known in the group for her big smile and laugh :)

🔺Ann Cameron, Public Admin Officer.
Ann has always had a soft spot for the Service since ‘Waterfest’, a community fundraising event which was previously held at Lake St Clair. Ann says volunteering gives her the chance to put something back into the community & says she has met some amazing people and formed great friendships. Ann proudly holds the record in the group for selling the most winning raffle tickets and for the virtual 100 Clubs during the covid lockdown!

Motorcycle Accident #Deepwater ➖On Sunday afternoon the Westpac #RescueHelicopter was tasked to a motorcycle accident at a property at Deepwater. At boy was treated by the aircraft medical team with the assistance of #NSWAmbulance #Paramedics. 5 Missions ➖ #Laguna / #Nabiac / #Merriwa / #Monkerai / #Bulahdelah.

The Westpac #RescueHelicopter Service has experienced a busy 18 hours with calls to airlift five people from separate pre-hospital emergency situations.

Laguna - This afternoon a man was seriously injured in a motorbike incident near Great North Road and Murray’s Run Road in Laguna.

Nowendoc – Also this afternoon, a second #Aircrew attended a single vehicle incident on the Thunderbolts Way approximately 20km south of Nowendoc. A man was airlifted to #Tamworth Base Hospital.

Merriwa - Around 9am today, a gentleman sustained serious injuries in Merriwa when he fell from his horse. The animal then rolled on to the man compounding his multiple injuries. He was treated on scene by local emergency services and the Helicopter’s Critical Care Medical Team before being flown to the John Hunter Hospital.

Overnight two missions were flown.

Bulahdelah – Around midnight the #Belmont based Aircrew was called to Bulahdelah to assist a lady. The lady had earlier in the evening been injured in a heavy tackle during a soccer match, suffering neck pain. The aircraft rendezvoused with local #NSWAmbulance #Paramedics at Bulahdelah Showground to airlift the lady to #Newcastle for further assessment and treatment at the John Hunter Hospital.

Monkerai - An emergency call was received from Monkerai near #Dungog last night after a female was seriously injured when her motor vehicle was impacted by a kangaroo. The lady was treated on scene for multiple injuries before being flown to the John Hunter Hospital.
