Around 12.30am, on Wednesday 23 September, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance on an urgent inter-hospital transfer from Tamworth Hospital to John Hunter Hospital. A woman in her 30s, suffering a serious medical condition, was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and the NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Newcastle.

Around 3.30pm, on Monday 21 September, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a person struck by a falling tree at South Arm, west of Nambucca Heads. Due to very rough terrain and limited access, the critical care medical team were winched into the scene, with the helicopter relocated to a nearby staging area. A man in his 70s was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for head injuries before being transported to the helicopter and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.

Just before 10.30am on Sunday 20 September, as part of a large multi-agency response, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a serious motorcycle accident near Booral, north of Newcastle.

A man in his 60s with leg injuries, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

Just before 10.30am on Sunday 20 September, as part of a large multi-agency response, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a serious motorcycle accident near Booral, north of Newcastle.

A man in his 60s with leg injuries, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

We would especially like to recognise the amazing NSW Ambulance Critical Care Paramedics, who along with a NSW Health Doctor, make up our helicopter critical care medical teams.

With extensive training and experience, they are experts in pre-hospital and critical patient care - as well as rescue crew responsibilities both on land and water ensuring all critically injured patients receive excellent care at the point of need.

Thank you for your skills, empathy and the dedication you display in commitment to excellence in critical care when responding to the variety of missions you face daily.

The valuable contribution of all NSW Ambulance staff continues to make a difference in their local communities and can be felt in the 1,600 missions we fly on average each year.

Around 11:40am on Saturday 12 September, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a motorcycle accident in Gravesend near Moree in the state's northwest.

A female in her 40s, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for multiple injuries before being airlifted to the Tamworth Regional Referral Hospital in a serious condition. A man in his 50s was also treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and transported to Moree District Health Service.

Around 11:40am on Saturday 12 September, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a motorcycle accident in Gravesend near Moree in the state`s northwest.

A female in her 40s, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for multiple injuries before being airlifted to the Tamworth Regional Referral Hospital in a serious condition. A man in his 50s was also treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and transported to Moree District Health Service.
