Around 9:00pm on Monday 20 July the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance on an urgent inter-hospital transfer from Armidale Hospital to Coffs Harbour Hospital. A man in his 80s, suffering a serious medical condition, was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and the NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Coffs Harbour.

A woman in her 20s was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics on scene before being transported to Port Macquarie Hospital to meet the helicopter’s critical care medical team. The woman was further treated and stabilised for multiple injuries before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
