Love from Above

Every day the Westpac Rescue Helicopter witnesses acts of love, from first responders and bystanders, concerned family and friends, nurses and medical staff, to the random acts of kindness we see within our community.

Love from Above aims to capture the diversity of the charity’s impact on our community. Artists are invited to create new works or submit an existing art piece to fit the Love from Above brief. It could be an aerial view of land or sea from the Rescue Helicopter’s perspective, an image of care and compassion, or a portrait of a first responder. How you interpret the Love from Above brief is entirely up to you.

ART COMPETITION

The inaugural Love From Above Art Competition will run from July 1-31.

Prizes will be awarded to the best artistic interpretations of the ‘Love from Above’ concept.   This may be an aerial view of the land or sea from the Rescue Helicopter’s perspective, a depiction of care and compassion or a portrait of a first responder, whatever ‘Love from Above’ means to the artist. Entries into this competition will be judged in four categories: (ages as of 1 July 2022)

Junior:  5-12 years

Youth: 13-18 years

Open: Over 18+

Chief Pilots Choice: Any artwork from the above three categories

At the conclusion of the competition, finalists will be selected by an independent panel for inclusion in the Love From Above Art Auction. Should an artwork sell in the auction, artists will be given 25% of final sale price or have the option to to donate all proceeds of the artwork to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
