Hunter Made Fundraiser

30th, May, 2024

The Hunter’s leading home builder McDonald Jones Homes has partnered with The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service to build a charity home which will be auctioned in November.

Known as the Helicopter House the home is one of McDonald Jones’ most popular designs the Anchorage Two with the classic Hampton’s façade and is located in Avery’s Rise estate on a 595m2 block of land at Heddon Greta.

McDonald Jones CEO, Rob Douglas, said McDonald Jones Homes is delighted to be partnering with a likeminded organisation like the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service which shares similar values to McDonald Jones.

“This project will provide vital funds to allow the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service to continue to operate and save lives across the Hunter and beyond,” Rob said.

“We have chosen one of our most popular architectural designs from our Stuart Everitt Collection, and our team are extremely proud to deliver a home that will impact everyone in the region. ”

“We have had a number of suppliers provide materials for the house free of charge or at a discounted rate, which means more money will be raised for this wonderful charity,” Rob said.

Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Acting CEO James Lawrence, said, “This is a partnership between two great Hunter organisations, which will deliver much needed funding for the Helicopter Service.

“The construction of the Helicopter House is well underway with finishing touches being completed in the coming months and we know the house will make a wonderful family home for the buyer” James said.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of McDonald Jones for the home and Hunter Land for their support they have provided through the provision of a great block of land in the Avery’s Rise development at Heddon Greta. The funds raised through the sale of this home will enable the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service to continue to deliver the world’s best aeromedical rescue service to the people of the Hunter and Northern NSW for years to come.

“We would also like to thanks Jurd’s Real Estate for coming on board to support this initiative and for donating their services to help us get the best outcome for the community” James added.
