The annual Ride For The Chopper has celebrated its 21st year.

The eight day mountain bike ride, from 15-22 September, started on the North Coast in Woolgoolga and ended in Tamworth with stops in Guyra, Armidale and Walcha along the way.

Riders visited Bald Blair Public School east of Guyra as part of the ride, informing students of the valuable work of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter across Northern NSW, as well as discussing the importance of bike safety.

As usual there were daily awards, themed ride days, games, activities and 21st anniversary celebrations culminated at the Calala Inn, Tamworth at the end of the weeklong ride.

40 riders participated, with eight support crew and two NSW Ambulance paramedics accompanied riders to provide assistance if needed, with the riders raising over $110,000 for the Service.
