Around 11.30am, on Tuesday 4 February, a Westpac #RescueHelicopter was tasked by #NSWAmbulance to a boy discovered unconscious in the water at #ShellyBeach on the #CentralCoast. The boy in his teens was bought to shore by bystanders who commenced CPR. On arrival, NSW Ambulance paramedics took over treatment of the boy prior to the arrival of the helicopter’s critical care medical team. The boy was further treated and stabilised before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.

An infant, suffering a serious medical condition, was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and a NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to #Newcastle.

Recently, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to assist the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) with a beacon search in the Newcastle area.

The search located the beacon near Newcastle Regional Heliport, with the aircraft crew finding the activated beacon in a boat in storage. The beacon was switched off and taken back to base, with a debrief provided to AMSA.
